I noticed recently that a couple of the computers in my "farm" are running version 5.02 of Folding @ Home. They are running as a service, under either Windows XP or Windows 2000. What is the simplest way to update these machines to the current version (5.04) and is it necessary?

One additional point-I don't have daily physical access to all the machines.

It is not necessary.

Two things the newer client will do for you:

1. Allows you to add the -advmethods flag during configuration.

2. If the WUs you get are using too much memory, you can configure to only get WUs that will use X amount of ram. You configure X. You may not get any WUs if there aren't any that use less than you configure.
