Hey, thanks for the stats. Many of you may have noticed my fall from folding dominance. I'm happy to report that I have convinced my sonicwall device that I am smarter than it and at 3 a.m. this morning my 20 unit lap reported 24 units totalling 5,339 points for the team!!!

Also, at 6 a.m 4 wu, 9 a.m., 6 more...I can forsee a steady stream of wu's being reported for our team. I'm guessing that I will be cranking out 7-10,000 point days.

Keep folding!!!

With you and Poopflingers crunching WU's like there's no tomorrow, we should be going up in stats in a short time.

Thank you all for the hard work you.
For all you do, this 's (Bud) for you.

Everyone knows i'm here just about every day. Especially when I have a problem...like today. the log file on my console version is only showing the svcstart flag. On the shortcut that I created I had -configonly, -forceasm, -advmethods and -svcstart. The service is also not letting me edit the command line when I go to properties in services. Maybe I won't need any of these flags, but I'd just like to know where they went.

When you run with the -configonly flag, F@H will only run the question screens and then shutdown.

When you answered YES to install as a service, F@H was configured to run without any shortcut needed. (Acutally, F@H is probably starting by itself as a service and then trying to run a second time on the shortcut (I assume it is in your startup directory) which is not a good thing.) So, first of all remove the shortcut you created, re-boot and make sure F@H is starting as it should. (use task manager)

Then (assuming it is running by itself as it should) you will need to edit a registry key to add flags with a service installation. I don't remember the exact key location, but here is how I do it.

Start button => run => regedit

use CNTRL^F to open the search window and search for '-svcstart' (no quotes). then edit the key it comes to (it will be called 'ImagePath) by right-clicking on it, selecting modify and adding the -advmethods and -forceasm flags.

now reboot and check the fahlog to make sure you got it changed

Cheers!

His didn't include the search thing:

1) Shut down that instance through the Services manager snap-in

2) Run regedit and go to key HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ and edit the entry ImagePath,
adding whatever flags you wish to the end. Exit regedit.

3) Re-open the Services manager snap-in, and verify that your changes appear there,
and then restart the service.

That's great news gravity, maybe we can start heading back up the ladder again (we don't need too many more boxes to get some teams in our sights again.

Sure, I'll race to 60k. I don't think we've ever been more than 2,000 pts apart any time over the last two months so it should be fun. I might stand to lose this one since I just got a copy of Guild Wars today and it figures to tie up my gaming rig fairly often, but what the heck :)

Thanks nate for all the stats and way to go poopflingers on the HUGE boost to team production! Nice to see Gravity back on track too with over 8,000 points today. Things are looking up, I'm psyched for you guys!
