welcome all new members. congrats to all MM's, Thx for the great stats.

I've been doing really s*itty in the stats lately (well top 30 usually :p) and i wondered why.............it appears my 1700+ hasn't been running f@h b/c it got accidentally turned off some time. the p4 2.533 still doens't have internet(stupid comcast), and the barton isn't on the network...god i hate being the "pc-man" for people that know nothing about pcs...at least all i charge is to run DC on the pcs :)

so tomorrow i hope to fix the barton and the 2.533. the 1700+ should be back online..to top it off i should be adding a 1.2 ghz Athlon soon as well. TOp 5 daily..here i come!

Welcome to all of the new members, congrats to the MMs and thanks to Hyperfocal!
My production has been crap lately (no clue why), but I managed to pass the venerable jliechty :Q. I'm honored to pass such a dedicated cruncher.

oh, i just noticed i got a juicey new double gromac core.

and it chugs quite fast on my P4C system. at least it seems like its chugging amazingly fast...maybe that's in comparasion to the tinker core before it :p

I still haven't gotten one of those on my A64, what flags are you running with Overkiller?

I don't know if its different for the A64 (shouldn't be b/c A64 has SSE2 optimizations) but i run with the following:

-forceasm -local -advmethods -service

i have a question. I can't get 2 instances of the client working as a service w/ firedaemon (it will only install 1). but how do i remove the 2 command-prompt tabs on my bottom bar (at this time in the morning i have lost all semblance of a memory towards nomenclature..so forgive my "vaugeness")...the bar to the right of the "start" button. I thought f@h was supposed to run in my taskbar? I dont care if it runs there.but how can i get it to run off of there!

btw. i'm running the CLI.

also, fire-daemon refuses to make f@h do anything on my 1700+ system. IT shows f@h loaded up as a service and it "running" but nothing is happening..so i have to always make sure that it is (which it wasn't prior too).

IIRC, the free version of FireDaemon only allows for one service to be installed.
On AMD chips -forceasm forces 3DNow! IIRC, but I'll give it a whirl.

MDE,Overkiller, and others regarding flags. Read this note, and this also.

No flags = Default folding

-advmethods = Public Beta testing, If it crashes don't complain because they're late stage Beta.

forceSSE = Force SSE on, if both 3DNow+ and SSE are available. For advanced users who know what they're doing. May cause increased instability. You've been warned.

-forceasm = After a system crash, force the default optimization: 3DNow+ for chips that have it. SSE or AltiVec if either is available but not 3DNow (e.g.-Intel), for advanced users who know what they're doing

A service installer can be found HERE

Osage, which would I use to force SSE2 (when possible) on an Athlon64? That's my current dilemma.

the following is a cut and paste from the official FAH forums.

there are no SSE2 optimistions that can be used that would improve performance. F@H uses 32bit FP maths, SSE2 adds 64bit FP maths in same or more time.

I wouldn't be surprised if they created an AMD64 version at some stage as well, mainly as it would be one of the first native 64 bit distributed libraries I suppose.

I was trying to do that because that new core is out and I wanted to see how my laptop would fare with those WUs. No big deal, but it would be nice for them to create an AMD64 version once XP64 comes out, or at least a Linux version (it would be the kick in the pants that gets me running Linux :)).

Scottv67, we're leaving crunchers in our wake. Let's see who gets to 30K first :)
