Ya, no one likes to be passed. I added a 1.3 celeron on Friday, not sure it's completed a work unit yet.

I'm spec'ing a $32k server for our network. I think it has quad xeon processors or something. 4 gig of ram. Will that fold quickly?

how many points does a regular high end system put out?

From my experience, an Athlon 3200+ will produce about 90 points per day.

I just added a Duron 1.6 OC'd to 2ghz which is adding about 60 points per day.

Actual production varies depending on the project. Tinker units produce the fewest points per hour. Gromacs units fold very quickly on machines with SSE, but even gromacs units vary, with newer projects being worth more points per hour.

If we can get about 2000 - 2500 extra points per day, we can hold our own and catch the Dutch Power Cows. The two teams that just passed us have nearly double our daily production.

I still have two folders doing Seti, but my new addition to the herd is starting to up the stats...

Plans are to update the cpu on my wife's comp from a 1600xp to at least a 2500xp , hopefully I'll order it this week. Already have a mobo on it's way to put the 1600xp into, that will probably go to my father-in-law...now if I could just get him to let it on 24/7
