Thanks Nate. That race didn't end up nearly as fair as it first appeared, as I finally spent the time to get my client set up right. This meant I now had access to the heralded QMD. I am actually only folding on one "core" of a P4 3.0 with Hyperthreading enabled. Shows how rediculous the QMD points can be.

Well then I should at least get partial credit for your increased production :p

I don't mind loosing if the TeAm gets some extra ppd

Thanks for the stats nate.... :)

Hopefully by the time the race starts I will get a couple more components to get another box online. (well...trade out with my Turd300 that is only halfway through it's first wu!)

1.5v TBred 1800+. The highest clock I have had it to is 2.3ghz, but I wasn't pushing it really hard yet. :)

Thanks for the stats Nate and sorry you couldn't pull out a win (Damn those QMDs)

a hearty welcome to our newcomers, Kryai and RTSAnime.

I am slowly catching Slider76 but It is going to be close to 18000. My Sempron 2600 MB should be coming back friday but in the spirit of fair play I should keep Dodo-soon-to-be-named-Phoenix offline.

I will have it up and running for the mini race though but not sure what the point production will be. Any other Sempron Users out there that can give me a rough estimate?

2 clients up and running again.

Had some issues with my new system that prevented me running F@H. Recently finally resolved them so I've got it going again. Should be rocking better than I used to. In fact, I think I need to install one more client still.

I have a Sempron 2500+ running F@H now.

On 364-point "bonus" Gromacs WUs (147x, 148x) it takes 31:30 to finish each of the 100 frames which works out to 166 ppd.

On non-bonus Gromacs I'm down closer to 100 ppd.

Good luck in the race -

(PS, thanx for the stats nate  )

Not sure if it's due to the new beta, but I converted 7 machines ( one a dual cpu) to the 5.04 client and my production seems to have almost doubled...??? If so, I'm love'n it :D and the rest of you should do it now!!!!

Hmmm ....

The client has little effect on production, the core does the work.

Did you maybe set up to get bonus WUs (> 5 MB download)? And config for -advmethods?

Only other thing I can think that could make that kind of difference would be if, previously, you had copied everything in the folding directory to other computers from an already set up computer. This could give all computers the same ID and possibly cause the exact same WU to be sent to more than one computer :( You would only get credit once even if you crunched the WU three times!

I'm guessing you got a bunch of good bonus WUs

Well the phoenix has risen from the ashes of a blown bios and is running like it should. I am going to run it for one work unit to do a burn in and then put it to rest until the chase to 18000 is over. I need an 80mm fan for the front to get some inflow but for now popped a cd blank so have a hole in the front. Just noticed my floppy light is on meaning my cable is backward. Whatever happened to the rule that pin 1 is closest to the power connector?

All 7 of the above mentioned machines were running the 5.02 cli ( I understand what you're saying about the core doing the work...) with all optimization flags set. Maybe it's that the 5.04 lets you fine tune things a little better? All I know is, I went from about 800-900 ppd to over 1300 since I switched. And except for the dually, the rest are AMD's.

I  ummm... may have been a little enthusiastic about my production doubling ( at the time I was averaging about 700-800 ppd...course, my dually was down at the time ) but it certainly seems like it has :p

Your avg is still up there dude! :) Still over 1400PPD!
I removed -advmethods cause my fast boxes were only getting small wu's.

Today I got a boost from one of my remote P4's. (QMD's are 450 points right?)

My slow box gave up on it's work unit....think I even got any points? I am debating flipping it off.

Sorry xbassman! When it says: "Deleting current work unit & continuing... " you don't get any points. If it says something like "Sending back what have done" then you get points for however much is done.

xbassman, if your "slow box" is the K6 300, I wouldn't bother unless you have it on the "timeless" units.

Hey MDE does this line:

"[21:01:01] + News from Genome@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home"

and server 171.64.122.112 mean that he has it set to "timeless" WUs?

Thought so.....

I thought I had that box set to timeless, but it is kinda a mute point now.

I grabbed a Shuttle AN35N off ebay tonight for a TBred that is idle, so that K6-2/300 is officially retired. :) I am think I can hit 2.4ghz with it.

I would think so, but I'm not sure. FAH Logstats will show the deadline on a WU, but since the machine is out to pasture now it doesn't really matter :).
