Thanks for the stats J :)

Congrats to the milestone makers today!

I saw a note in the last thread about the -advmethods switch pretty much just giving out one 542 Gromac after another. Is this still the switch of choice for most of you? (I also use -forceasm) Just point me in the right direction and I'll crunch my lil' heart out :D

Thanks for stat J
congrat MMs (including myself:D)

I still use those 2 switchs on my main folding rig. I think I start getting something else than 542's.

I recommend -advmethods on SSE-enabled CPUs such as the P4 and Athlon XP. Otherwise, you are probably better off without it (I have no benchmarks to confirm that; it's just a suspicion).

I have a dual-P3/550 system on an Intel N440BX board, and the -advmethods seemed to be causing instability there, so I turned it off.

Well i have a few benchmarks (not 100% accurate)

1.4 Athlon C running at 1.54 (140x11)

Protien(points/hour)
540 (1.61) -gormacs
542 (1.63) -gormacs
tinker
612 (0.69)
615 (0.54)
626 (1.15)
632 (1.11)
633 (1.10)
638 (1.75)
639 (1.53)
648 (0.96)
649 (0.97)
651 (1.65)
659 (1.51)
663 (0.99)
720 (0.88)

I have much more detailed results if you want them.

Perhaps we can get some kind of benchmark page up and running ?

BTW Congrats MM's and happy folding

Excellent! If you would like to, I could make a graph and put this on my [sorely in need of an update] F@H website. I'm hoping to use whatever is on there as a template for what we will eventually put up in the F@H section at teamanandtech.com, if given the chance.

thx for the stats jliechty and congrats to the MMs. I'm still using both switches and, yes, I do get something different... 537 for example (working on it atm).
