Upgrades for me are delayed a coupla' days...newegg wasn't able to offer the same mobo for replacement and I had to choose a different one,
looks like it will be the middle of the week till I'm able to get the xp1600 back up and running. On a good note, I'm not going to lose the low end
machine, the person who it's going to has agreed to run FaH on it for me :

I've got a couple of noob questions:

How are frames defined? For example, I am working on a (gromacs) WU that has 2500 parts. It increments in steps of 25. Are those 25 frames or just one? (if it is 25 frames, I'm getting a frame done every 20 seconds.) A previous WU had 500 parts and showed results every 5. Does the program just update every 1 percent?

Are all frames equal? Assuming the WU with 2500 parts is 2500 frames will it take 5 times longer than a WU with 500 frames?

Also, I added the -forceasm switch on my Barton 3200+ and cut the processing time by 60% Made a huge difference.

A typical Gromacs work unit consists of 100 frames. Most frames have 2500 steps, or calculations, needed to complete 1 frame. Each step completed is 1 frame of the 100, therefor it is 1% of the work unit.
As for Tinker work units, they can have 100, 200, or 400 frames. They all have varying steps required to finish each frame depending on the type of work unit. Again, the client will list when each step completes, but with Tinker, if it's a 100 frame work unit, then it is 1% of the work unit, if it is a 200 frame work unit, then its only 1/2 a % of the total, and a 400 frame work unit, only 1/4 a % of the total.....
