My overclocking adventures have been screwing up my F@H production somewhat, as I've been doing a lot of Memtest86 and Prime95 to ensure stability before starting the F@H client again (been losing too many WUs at 2GHz), and I think I have a bad stick of RAM (it's supposed to be PC/2700 aka DDR333 or 166MHz, but it only runs stable - in other words, no memtest86 errors - at 133MHz). So anyway, hopefully I can get a decent but stable overclock established, and resume some better production in a few days.

What are your voltages set at in bios? Have you tried bumping up your ram v a little?

Please refresh me on your new specs (mobo, cpu,ram, etc) Doh! I just needed to peek at your rigs specs...got'm.

The processor (AXP 1700+ Tbred B) will run close to 2GHz (160FSB*12.5mult) when overvolted to about 1.75V, but at that speed I have to run the RAM async of the FSB, so it's at 133MHz (the RAM gets 2.63V, IIRC). I tried overvolting the RAM to the next setting in my 8RDA's BIOS at one time, but that didn't seem to alleviate the memtest86 errors much. FWIW, the RAM is some cheap Kingston ValueRAM PC/2700.

my ram gives me over 5k errors in 30 minutes of memtest86 but my rig runs rock solid

I think with the ram you have that may be all you can expect. Question for you, what kind of timings are you running in bios? norm, fast, ultra, etc...?
