Noticed you are not doing the 1000 increments up to the first 10,000 like the other posters of the milestones. Us lowly new guys need all the encouragement and positive reinforcement we can get.

Noticed the bad news about losing 15 of our active users, we have to find out why they are leaving the fold(pun fully intented)

Almost forgot welcome the new members and congrats to the milestone makers. I broke 8000 and halfway to 9000

Welcome Marco_Rojas, GregMilstead, and HokeyWhiteBoy!

Thanks for the stats Kb3edk!

Keep an eye out for a certain TeAm-mate "storming" the 10K milestone in a few hours 😉

Welcome to the TeAm, Marco_Rojas, GregMilstead, and HokeyWhiteBoy and Granorense 🙂 If you have any questions or need any help, just ask.

Congratulations to the Milestone Makers!

And Scott66 you are not "lowly" 😉 The "new guys" are the life blood of the TeAm!

Thanks Adam 😎

Well as for the +15, -15 trends... for most of this year we have been fluctuating between 150 and 200 users. The "active users" just counts how many of us have submitted a WU within the last 7 days. I wouldn't read too much into things unless we get down below 150 like we did this summer, when a lot of our TeAmmates shut down, due to summer break for college or to save money on the electric bill (both in terms of running boxes, and the AC required to cool the house!)

As for any proposed changes to the recognized milestones, I'll make a change, if you'll make a change. I would like to see a challenge. In fact I'm challenging all you not-so-"lowly" newcomers to challenge each other into seeing more of your milestones in the stats posts! If anyone thinks this is unreasonable please send me a PM.

thanks for the stats kb3edk!!

congrats to the MM's (even those not listed 😛 )

welcome Marco_Rojas, GregMilstead, and HokeyWhiteBoy 🙂

i'll maybe do a race after i see what the TAS monthly project is and decide how many cores i dedicate to it.

I was commenting that when nate posts the milestones that he showed the 1000 increments up to the 10,000 point level, the same at exteme overclock summary site that you yourself link to in your milestone post. Seems the normal policy is that for below the 10,000 level, 1,000 increments are shown as milestones.

"Normal policy"? LOL  Do you work for the government?

Since my stats are not to your liking would you like to take over for me? In truth I have been slacking since nate got back into town, and also since I've been devoting more of my (limited) Anandtech nef-time to TAS. Even if you're not interested, someone else here could probably do it better than me 😎

Hello to all the new members: Marco_Rojas, GregMilstead, and HokeyWhiteBoy

Congrats to all those milestonemakers

[Begin Sermon]
The most fun I have had doing the stats was when we had 2 or 3 races going at a time and plenty of people getting in on the fun. I think it also generates more interst in F@H in general also because I believe people were coming to the stats threads to see how the races were going. Making a challenge is for no other purpose than some good-old TeAm fun and hopefully a boost in production from the involed racers. There are no prizes or awards given for winning a challenge, just the recognition of your peers on a job well done. Of course there is some good natured teasing that goes along with racing, but no-one will ever be put down for their contribution to this project no matter how small. I think that with SETI Classic winding down there are going to be a lot of TA crunchers shopping around the various projects and we could attract some of those people if we had some more activity in the F@H threads. I really think our TeAm could use a little fun. [End Sermon]

With that being said is anyone in the 175-275 ppd range interested in racing to an individual point total (for example : first folder to produce 5,000 points after challenge is agreed on) I would like to race someone to 5,000 or 10,000 points 😀

I wouldn't mind challanging Scott66 to 18,000points
seeing as he is 4,500 points or so behind me (9k to 13.5k) and he always has atleast 2x the production I have, then a further 9k for Scott to my 4.5k is fair.

according to current numbers Scott66 will pass me before I make 15k at my current rate. But i'll be stepping up to 120ppd for a week in a few days time (parents go on holiday for 7 days so I can leave the pc on 24/7). Even then 18k is still very much in Scott's favour.

The contents of this post has been moved to its own thread: A holiday season race - for TAS - members vs. non-TAS-members in F@H

Hi Slider76 and in the spirit of Halloween and noticing your demon avatar, I accept your challenge. Just don't melt me.

My production will likley fall as the one work computer I was testing is gone. So for now it will be my Scooter going most of the time and my parents computer contributing it's bit whenever they have it going. I am still waiting for my replacement motherboard for my own testing computer so it won't be going for at least another week but it won't have near the production of the P4 3.0Ghz work computer. My main computer is working on a 600 pointer and won't be finished until tomorrow.

Lets have some fun and let the games begin.

I would be interested in a race to either 5k or 10k points from current totals. It looks like that would be a pretty fair race. According to the "User futures" at EOC a 10k race would be about 5.5-6 weeks. Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Kevin

ACK

(Sorry for the late arrival peeps.......... )

WELCOME to Marco_Rojas, GregMilstead, and HokeyWhiteBoy

Congrats to all these milestone makers!

Ok sounds fun, lets just start with a 5K race and if more people want to jump in we could up it to 10K. We could start the race as of 6:00 p.m. CST (10/31/2005) if that is ok with you....

Race would look something like this:

Folder...................begining points......Current points.......Points Advancement
---------------------|------------------------|------------------------|--------------------------
natethegreat...........45,817................45,817.....................0
Vikesrock8411.......40,521................40,521.....................0

Just let me know if this is alright 🙂

Thanks for the stats kb3edk, and of course welcome to the new members and congrats to the MMs!

I'm going to be working on a new version of my F@H setup guide, hopefully I can get it updated with the new flags\options in the 5.04 beta client. The preliminary version should be up sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Nate, I don't mind a good race now and again. But I can't come up with a challenge I think will work for me, so I am volunteering for the TAS vs FAH mini team race proposed by petrusbroder...................(non-TAS team) Link 😀

The mini team might be good for those that are having a hard time matching up.

I don't always win................well, actually I seldom win, but I do enjoy the race........................my engines running...............................😎

Folder (TeAm rank).......Total/New

On The Way to 18K
Slider76 (234)..............13,816/175
Scott66 (281)...............9,002/0

p.s. I liked the way OhioDude had the seti race stats set out, so I borrowed from there 😉 Thanks OhioDude

The new setup guide is up! Check it out and comment\flame\praise as needed. A big thanks to GLeeM for the info on the individual flags and what they do (carried over from the last guide).

Thanks Slider76 for setting up the challenge and i noticed you got some points today.
My first will be showing up in the wee hours of the morning as I will leave it on tonight (Sleep be damned, I want points) Have to invest in some quieter fans or earplugs.
