F@H question: queueing WUs possible???

Hi!

I'm driving home for x-mas. I'll be gone for like 6 days. But of course I don't want my machines to be sitting idle 😉

So here's the question: Is there any possibility to que at least a few WUs for F@H like one can do with S@H? I have a dial up DSL connection which will cut the line every 24hs. So staying online is just not possible :-(

If there's no way for queueing I'll have to run SETI during those days as I can cache WUs easily.

Unfortunately there is no way to queue wu's for F@H. From the F@H FAQ:
Can I download more than one unit at a time?

The algorithm we use works best if everybody downloads one work unit at a time, and checks back after each unit is completed, so therefore there is no option to download multiple units.

Could be someway to keep the computer connected? A scheduled download or 3 maybe?!?! 😉
Running seti in the interim is a good idea too. BBR is slipping by us again.

Have a good trip!

If set that way, yes the F@H client will auto connect. If using the CLI, use the -config flag, and when asked 'Ask before fetching/sending', answer no. The graphical client deafults to send wihtout asking. I wonder if you're gonna have problems with your dsl line staying connected if the F@H client doesnt finish a wu in less than 24hrs tho. I think the pppoe client would auto connect itself when a request for network was issued by the F@H client..... I have had the good fortune of never having to use pppoe. My dsl line is `bridged`.

The crucial thing is that the F@H machine is connected via ICS and the right to establish or kill a connection is not granted to that machine .... DARN!
