Long story short -- water heater gave out and leaked all over my apartment.

Took building management two hours to show up as I frantically mopped up over 7 gallons of water with nothing but bath towels.

Stats will return tomorrow.

No worries, HF. Sh... er, stuff happens to all of us, and sometimes the priority list doesn't include any time for message boards. I understand, and wish you luck with the cleanup and whatever else must be done (and hope that you have renter's insurance!).

Man that's a bummer Hyperfocal!
I hope everything works out for the best!

Thank you for your continued hard work with the daily stats....it is greatly appreciated!

Ohh no 🙁

Leaks suck, good luck making everything dry and working again. I'm sure we can hold off on stats for however long it takes for you to get everything back to normal.

Thanks for the good wishes.

I was very lucky since I had a few minutes between assignments and stopped home. If I hadn't, the whole place would have been wet, ruining my laptop, several cameras (laptop and extra cameras sit by the door in a "bug out bag" for assignments that require the extra gear) and a lot of other stuff. The computers are all up off the floor.

The only really bad part was that it took two hours for the building maintenance guy to show up. (He lives in the building across the parking lot.) Even then, he couldn't shut off the water properly and didn't offer to lend me a shop vac.

The place stinks and the hall carpet is still wet. The only real damage was to the building itself and that's the owner's problem. He needs to hire more responsible people. Beside the water damage, the plumber burned a hole in the kitchen floor with a propane torch.

Stats will be back tonight as usual.

Sorry to hear, it really sux! But glad it's almost sorted out! 😉 And don't worry about the stats, I have worked on my stats addiction and can now go for a whole day without stats...well almost! 😉

He burned a hole in the kitchen floor with a propane torch...weird!
