Hey all,

So I'm having a look at this F@H thing.. but I cant find anywhere that explains wether this application is a threaded app or not.... Ive got a Quad P4 Xeon 2.8Ghz machine that i'm running the text client on. Do (as you do in Seti) have to run 4 instances of this app from 4 different directories, or will the app utilise all 4 CPUs from running the one application ??

TIA for any info..

you'll need to run 4 different instances in 4 different folders
and you must put the switch -local for all 4 clients
e.g. C:\Program Files\Folding@Home\fah3console -local
hope you enjoy it here:)

Also note what I said in the other thread, that you must set each CLI up with a separate Machine ID, as well as running each with the -local flag. To run them as services, you'll need the FireDaemon Pro, because the free one (not that the Pro version can't be "free", but I shouldn't talk about those matters here ;)) is limited to one service only (you'll need a separate service entry for each client, for each processor. :)

Hmmm Quad P4 2.8Ghz Xeon = 8 with HT right?

Of if u have HT disabled, you need to run F@H Text client in it's own directory, and use the -local tag. I like to use the
-forceasm and -advmethods tags on there as well.

To configure the Client you need to run it with a -config tag.

when you run the config you need to assign each CPU a machine ID.
