But on the bright side your still gonna be crunchin' for TA right???

Oh heckies YES, I'll still be here with Y'all at TA!

I just needed to find some way to end the consternation I have been feeling about the way F@H administers their project (the (UN)competitive end of things)

My plan is to stay with F@H through the Holiday Race and then I'll assimilate and move on with TAS to their next tour of duty with the comming of the new year.

You'ld be happy to note that my AMDs are eating up my Intels, on both Dimes, and BOINC Rosetta/Primegrid... :)

I love AMD... BTW: I was prusuing (browsing) thru Best Buy today, and saw a 3800+ Dual Core with 1gb Ram, 200gb HD (I think the box was an HP) for only 839... I need some of those... ;)

I'm sold on AMD for crunching too. They are tough to top in most projects.

Even in F@H they blow the Intels out of the water, but Stanford gives a 3X bonus on one of their Work unit types (QMD) which they only assign to Intel machines because they (supposedly) couldn't afford licensing for both Intel and AMD. {/me waves BS flag}

Unfortunately, with my son starting college in '06, I will be running these Socket As 'till the wheels fall of 'em. I sure do miss the days when I did an upgrade each year.

I'll be looking forward to giving the projects you mentioned a whirl as I wander with TAS beginning with the new year.

TAS is a mini group of great teammates that once a month pick a new project to crunch for, and to give their teammates a boost. Its a great way to learn the projects and teammates as well as give a boost to the teammates crunching the projects full time.

Team Anandtech Sentinels T.A.S.

Anyone is welxcome to join.

Well, Sid, Welcome to TAS. :)
And you will be going out of F@H with a bang: the Holiday Season Race. :D
I do not understand why some posters in the thread you linked to do not understand what you are talking about or why they sound so defensive. If all were well then no defensiveness would be needed ... :Q
But lets not start that discussion here - we will all (ok, quite a few of us) learn what all is about in just 3 weeks :D when the race starts!

That is most awesome news for TAS Sid!!! :D

I still remember the great fun I had when crunching with you on Lifemapper when we helped Silverthorne here ;)

Happy crunching mate and I hope you'll enjoy your stays!

You are all so supportive and I appreciate it greatly!

As TeAmmates you are awsome!

This truly is THE GREATEST DC COMMUNITY IN THE WORLD

(I do remember the lifemapper adventure! It was fun. If I recall correctly I got into a controversy at the FreeDC forums over that one.... I really don't try to be an azz.... HONEST)

PS: That thread at the Folding at Home forum is getting VERY interesting (see end of page 2 and 3)

Thanks to both the wolves (gee, I crack me up  )

You are right about the wasted keystrokes.... over there.

Unless Dr. Pande posts to clear up the "misunderstanding" he created by editing out the comments I refered to when he didn't like the response, I won't even be able to remain folding to the end of the year.

What a way to end a long run on a great TeAm of folders. I am so sorry to all to be creating negativity with this thread.

Let's let this one drift into the sunset so everyone can concentrate on what we do the best.

  CRUNCHING!
