F@H issue

I noticed I hadn't gotten a single point in a couple days, even though my clients were still running. I checked on them just now. They were completing at least one step per hour, probably faster. But the last step was sometime at 10pm, don't know what day.. I just know it's not 10pm now. Has anyone ever had their clients just... stop?

at one step/hour, you are looking at 100 hours to complete a WU.. that's 4+ days. Is one step per hour normal for your crunchers? If so, you should expect results @ 4days

If 1 step per hour is slower than you are acustomed to, then I suggest checking Task Manager for background processes you didn't know were running. If it is OK, the most logical thing that slows down machines (A LOT) is spyware. Scan with Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy to clear them out.

I don't have any unwanted processes or spyware, I assure you. It's two clients on one machine with HT, so I don't expect it to fly. But they did just suddenly stop spitting out work for no apparent reason. The logs aren't really telling me anything, except they completed a step and never wrote to local files.

More details about your system would help, if it is not spyware, that is afflicting your dc project. Recent upgrades - hardware & software? Space on drive F@H is on? Last time this drive defragged? Other programs/games also affected? Type of internet connection? Speed (or lagging of late) of connection? Have a zipper news program - is it steady or does it studders? Bios upgrades? etc...

You know what it seems the time posted next to each step is simply incorrect. I have no idea why it is showing the wrong time. It seems to be GMT.

Can you tell us the WU number/name?

There are some new really high point WUs out there now. So an hour per frame/step would not be unusual. But it is unusual for it not to advance since 10:00.

It would be good to know if the WUs are not stable. Stanford would quit sending them if they are unstable.

LOL

Yes the time is not local, at least for me. It is probably GMT or UTC or whatever it is called.

If it is keeping to a steady time per frame then it is probably just a huge point WU.

I've got a coupel that seem to ahve been folding all weekend. I they started on friday and when I came back in today they wee still going. 😕

*edit*
just checked out that logstats program, it's pretty darn cool. Time per frame on one of the WUa was 2 hours, 12 mins :Q
