F@H issue w/9800GTX+

I have a 9800GTX+ that is only doing about 1159 PPD now. The core is FahCore_14; the WU is 5900; and connecting to Server 171.64.122.70

I have done the usual stuff. Reinstalled vid drivers, reinstalled GPU client. I found one FAH Forum message where the poster was getting EUEs but that is not my problem.

Anyone have any thoughts?

EDIT: I have found a thread over at the F@H web site forum. The 5900 WUs have "Up to 40% spread in frame rates" It is expected behavour. Some people are getting higher PPD, I'm getting lower PPD.

I hope this is just confusion on the part of FahMon due to the variability in frame times.

I've seen weird stuff with this core14 WU. If you watch temperature on the GPU (Rivatuner or GPU-Z) it fluctuates a lot.

Haven't seen any PPD weirdness though. Seems to stay at 5,200 or so. (edit: on the 9800GTX+)

Are you running multiple video cards? Multiple SMPs? I don't really know what to suggest.

I am using the 178.24 version of drivers.... maybe try them?

Thanks Pokey!

I've got fahmon set to "use all frames" so maybe that's why I am seeing higher calculations.

I also OOPsed 😱 in an earlier thread (I'd fix it if I could remember where I put it)

I told someone that -advmethods had no effect on GPU2 clients....

WRONG AGAIN SID

I noticed this in the last couple of days and was wondering why a couple of my cards have had a lower PPD production at times. I looked in the file and do see that there are 2 cores in there. The usual core Fahcore_11 and now Fahcore_14. Hmmm I will be watching these more closely...

Thanks Pokey for the heads up! 🙂
