F@H Help 20000 Frame WU????

I decided to load F@H on my work laptop since it sits for long periods of time.

I selected larger WU because I have memory to spare.

It downloaded one and now I'm freaked.

It is 20,000 Frames (I'm on the GUI). The estimated completion is Dec. 2007.

Is it possible to tell it to cancel this one and give me another?

My computer at home is set up the same way and it hasn't done anything like this.

Thanks,
Chris

Well, after I write this cry for help, the GUI finally updated from 30min per Frame to 16sec.

It should finish in a few days.

Sorry for all the drama.

I was just thinking about the same. Maybe while the core was benchmarking your system, your CPU was busy with something else. F@H doesn't allow for a deadline that long as far as I know. I know the minimum deadline is 10 days + whatever extra the specific WU requires, but two months?! Glad it worked out for you.

I think the GUI client estimates time to finish by how long the last frame took to finish.

It doesn't work too good on the first frame or any frame where something else was using the CPU intensively.

LOL, the longest final deadline WU I could see was a 1112 pointer - 306 days

It would take a P4 @ 2.8 with SSE2/3 turned off about 10 days to finish that WU.

whenever you first start the GUI client it does a TERRIBLE job of estimating the amount of time/frame. only after several minutes of work have been processed does the timeing estimate become accurate 😉

mine usually doesn't report it accurately until after the first frame is finished. and, the first frame always takes like 20 minutes, even if the rest take 2 minutes.
