F@H frequently crashes and then gets a new WU!

It's doing it on my PC too. I am running a non-OC'ed AMD Athlon 1000 and windows 98. It has the same set up as my other 2 1000 systems. They are all running fine except for this one. I've run AdAware on it, defragged it and made sure there is nothing else running. I'm running the console just like in all the other machines.

Any help would be appreciated.

How long has the system been running? If it has been several months or more, maybe the system needs a good cleaning. Heat may be building up to the point it causes a glitch.
If you are using the -advmethods and/or the -forcesse switches, stop the client and re-start without them. This will slow down completion times, but may help with stability.
I have 1 machine that has a similar problem, once in a while it will lose a wu. I scheduled an anti-virus scan daily on that machine to interupt the F@H client for a short while, letting temps drop down a few degrees. I know that machine has marginal cpu cooling too, so a heatsink upgrade would be the best way to go, just havent got around to it yet..... Maybe a heatsink upgrade is in your future too?!? The original Athlons were hot, hot, hot!
Check under Power Options and be sure the hard drive does not turn off, or go into suspend mode, also, I recommend not having a screen saver. Again under Power Options, set the monitor to turn off after 10-15 minutes instead.
good luck!

Even if you've checked stability with Prime95, F@H (especially with the Gromacs core) can reveal little instabilities in the system that no other program would notice. If you've overclocked, back off a bit to see if that helps.

I am using the Gromacs Core (I remember about the extensive SSE stress now) and Highly Optimizied Assembly Code is ENABLED. I have the processor voltage lowered to cut down on heat but maybe this is causing the problem? My NF7 already undervolted the processor to 1.60v while at 1.65v in BIOS.

EDIT: Gromacs (when it works) is insanely fast compared to Tinker though...
