F@H Error

Why do I keep seeing this error on my machines? I am running the latest SMP client on a 8 core Xeon (x64) and 4 core Opteron box (x32).

I getting very frustrated. Thanks.

Either your system is unstable, or you are unlucky and keep getting bad WU's. If you are getting the error at the same spot in the WU on consecutive WU's it is a bad WU. When you have an EUE you will download the same WU 2 more times, after 3 unsuccessful attempts to complete the WU it will get a new one.

Link doesn't work for me. What does it say? And what version are you running? 6.23 handles EUEs (bad units) better than previous versions.

Sorry, my server was temporarily down. The message says "Folding@Home has run into a serious error running the core and will shutdown."

I am running version 6.22. Where do I get a copy of 6.23?

Cutthroat: Both of my Xeon and Opteron boxes are not overclocked. (Heheh, I wish I could over clock Xeons and Opterons) They have been running 5.91 just fine for a very long time.

Probably a bad WU, and you will get it 3 times in a row at the same spot. When that happens you can delete your work files and queue.dat and it will download the WU again, do this twice after getting a EUE and you will get a different WU.

OK, I'll try that. I heard SMP WUs have been unstable but up until recently I've been running 5.91 and it seemed fine.

I'd like to try 6.23. Standford only appears to have 6.22 posted. Anyone know where I can get it?
