F@H-can't get workunit problem

I've been running F@H on this box for a year or more now without a problem, but starting about two hours ago my main F@H cannot get a workunit. Surprisingly the graphics unit I'm running on the same box has gotten at least one workunit in that time.

I've rerun the configonly setup and rebooted the box. It's trying to get units from http://assign.stanford.edu:8000, it connects but then says "no appropriate work server was available, will try again in a bit" and "cannot get work instructions."

Is this a problem at my end or at Stanford's?

My main rig at the house uploaded a completed work unit a couple hours ago, and is having the same problem. We will just have to wait until the work unit server issue is corrected.

Mine finally got through a little while ago, but it took about six hours.

Necroing an old thread, but I'm having this exact same problem again-for 2+ days now. Can't get a work unit on my cpu cruncher, the gpu cruncher on the same box is doing fine. Here is the log:

Have you considered updating to the V7 client?

V7 client seems to have done the trick. Haven't really kept up with FAH and the earlier version is what I installed way back when I got this computer. I wonder how many copies of FAH are out there not running properly because people don't proactively look after them?

FWIW I had the same problem on my Q9550 cruncher. Shut it down, dump the work, queue.dat, and unitinfo folders and fire back up. Worked like a charm.

I noticed my work unit hung at 100%, so probably lost that one.

I still running SMP instead of V7 on all my multicore rigs, which includes many dual cores. I'm concerned switching to V7 will cause them not produce as well, is this warranted?
