Looks like Patriot is getting the same error on one of his machines in this thread:

http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=20692&start=105

Here's part of his log file:

[05:34:08] Entering M.D.
[05:34:15] Mapping NT from 64 to 64
[05:49:54] CoreStatus = 0 (0)

[05:49:54] - Error: Could not get length of results file work/wuresults_07.dat
[05:49:54] - Error: Could not read unit 07 file. Removing from queue.
[05:49:54] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[05:49:54] Cleaning up work directory
[05:49:54] + Attempting to get work packet

It makes me want to quit, when I go for days with these wierd errors, and no points. Over 24 hours of idle for a box that normally does 125k ppd.

I'd say check out World Community Grid. They offer a number of projects fighting cancer and other diseases - like F@H - and they have numerous projects so you are never starved for work.

Given that you are an "anchor" for our F@H team and have such a high individual standing within the project, I can understand why you might not want to make the switch.

But if it comes down to switching or quitting, please don't quit! :)

You could even leave the GPU's on F@H (pretty dependable work...) and move the CPU to WCG.

I echo blckgrffn's sentiments. Would be a shame to lose another hefty contributor to the team.
