F.E.A.R.

Well i got my roommate F.E.A.R. for Christmas and we were just playing it. OMG! The people at Monolith Productions, If they didn't deserve an award for Blood and Blood II (Which i personally think they do) DEFINITELY deserve an award now. The AI engine makes the bots try to hide from you and dodge your attacks. It is now my roommates favorite game...and My RA wants a copy.

I haven't downloaded or bought this game yet. I played the old beta for about 2 minutes but my short attention span got the best of me.....

this game is amazing, eh?

My FT view is set to view 40 threads per page, as of right now, all 40 threads on the 1st page are dated today.

F.E.A.R is the best single-player game I've played in a long time, about the only knocks I can give are not enough variety of bad guys & its too short!

Did not like the game at all. good AI but IMO crappy graphics... ending sucked immensely. I preferred Far Cry and Half Life 2 much more than FEAR.

AWESOME AWESOME GAME. I just started it recently, and I fricken love it. Not many games, especially single player games can hold my attention for a long time, but this one I will complete Im sure.

FEAR is really awesome...i love the whole japanese movie type thing with the grl with long black hair in a red dress...kinda creepy

plus, it's a high end system killer...slaps $4000 systems in the face with its settings on max lol

I'm glad the gameplay changed a lot. It was a lot like Max Payne IMO because it's not all about trying to get through a maze. Half-Life and Doom focus too much on mazes, unlocking stuff, etc, while FEAR is pretty much straightforward with combat. I liked it a lot especially cuz you could replay a billion of the parts over and over again. It's just how you want to kill them. Do you headshot them? Do you throw a nade? Do you lay down a mine adn watch that idiot run up to it and go BOOM? Heh. It's amaizng. Even the DEMO I played like 300 times over just cuz I tried all the guns and stuff...

Odd comment... How can you say that with a straight face? Well sure, it probably doesn't look so hot if you run it at minimum because it's such a resource hog, but if you put it to max detail it looks absolutely incredible. I've never seen such detailed textures or models. Not to mention the sweet shadows!

Also how can you say FEAR's ending sucked while HL2/Far Cry basically had none?

How well does it run on your roomate's machine?

hes got a amd 3000+ clocking at 2.17 with 1 gig ram, Radeon 9800 and windows xp home and it runs at 20-32 frames. It runs great IMHO. And if your saying "Crappy graphics" you really need a better machine. The flashbacks alone and character models are at the level of Final Fantasy movies or similar. You really need to drop a little on a better system if you dont think this game can play like an unbelievable gem.

I've heard people compare playing F.E.A.R for the first time to playing Half-Life for the first time. Too bad my machine can't handle it.

i would tend to agree, the game looks incredible on the higher end hardware, most of the people bitching about graphics are on Radeon 9200s and FXs it seems...
