Didn't you get the memo? PC gamers don't do coop anymore. Nobody had fun playing the Quake or Doom series.

Anywho, I think if Age III gets good reviews I'll be picking it up over this because of my pc specs. I doubt performance wise much has changed since the multiplayer demo and that ran bad, and didn't look very good on my pc.

yes, your sarcasm meters are correctly picking up high readings. :)

Awesome! And now there is a Quake4 review up as well.

IMO, it looks like FEAR is going to be the 'next Far Cry' (fun, addictive game with some new interesting gameplay aspects), with Quake4 essentially as the 'next Doom3' or 'next Unreal 2' (pretty but repetitive and underwhelming shooter).

I'm looking forward to FEAR for sure, but I also will look into Quake4 since I had tons of fun with #1 and 2.

EB Games had FEAR on the shelves a week early yesterday. I picked one up before they could take it off. I haven't played it much though. I'll have more time this weekend.

Wow, a shooter I can finally buy. Im sick of all these micky mouse sci-fi wanna be games....like Halo. Looks however to be very taxing on a system. Particle effects....where are those PPU's? Both ATi and Nvidia both failed to provide anything like it.

the big difference is far cry has wide open spaces and open-ended gameplay, for the most part. Fear is just gonna be one tunnel room tunnel room hallway sequence, I bet.

The demo was awesome for the following reasons:
1) When the little ghost(?) girl crosses your path in a dark hallway, you're dragged down to slo-mo like some kind of nightmare. FREAKY.
2) The shockwave from grenades VISIBLY compress the air and of course throw sh!t all over the place i.e. bookshelves, boxes, dead bodies.
3) I accidentally shot up the cinderblock wall near my position when I didn't lean around the corner far enough... and the immediate area filled up with concrete dust!!!! That was soooooo cool.

On the IGN video review he said you didnt need a super high end PC to play it nice. He said that you could get by just fine with a 2.4ghz P4 1gb or ram and a 6800. Maybe they fixed up the final version to run better on slower pcs. Anyway this game looks amazing. I wonder how much better it will be with an X2 since I guess its suppose to be multithreaded.

The IGN review said he got 39fps on a 3ghz p4 1gb ram and a 6800gt, which he said was an improvement from the demo. I like this title, but it feels more like a 29.99 buy to me. Seems like it needs some performance tweaking and while its a cool SP experience, it probably doesn't have a ton of replay value.

I dont know why people claim it to be a system hog. Look at my system. My system got an average of 43fps in the timedemo with basically the same settings as that IGN computer...It's really not a system hog compared to how good it looks.

oh well, i want the game. NOW.

Has anyone picked up a copy yet. Some folks are reporting stores selling copies early.
