I am unable to play the game when i have sound enabled in the FEAR config. I am not using any sound card at all, just integrated. I have drivers for everything. This is my only problem, does anyone know how to fix it. First when i played it, it let me play for about 10-15 minutes, everything was going smoothly, then I crashed. Now i can't even start the game without crashing unless I disable sound. Please help.
 
I can't get into the game to do that, but when i start it up with no sound, all of the EAX and stuffed is off and is grayed out.
 
Try using the Config exe (which I assume you've been using to turn off sound) and just turn off Hardware Sound instead of all sound.
 
Okay, I read up. Definitely replace the EAX.dll in your install directory with a newer version, and if that doesn't work, disable Hardware Sound and Sound Filters with Config.exe.
