even with the FEAR dvd in the drive I was still getting authentication errors until I got the nocd/dvd .exe. Now I don't have to worry about errors and restarting the game 20 times to get it to work or even looking for the disc.

BTW the new FEAR patch 1.02 seems to be very buggy. I like the game but 2 patches within a few weeks of release seems to indicate a rush to market, especially when the patches cause more problems then resolutions.

I agree with that. Think they wanted to get it out AS Q4 was coming out "just in case". Given the reception its recieved, I think they would have been better served waiting a little more to get a better QQ out the door (and more CTF maps/MP skins!!!).
