Ok.... so I know I shouldn't expect too much from a free game, but yeah....... what is up with FEAR multiplayer? Totally did not live up to my expectations. Like I said though, it was free.
 
I was pretty disappointed myself. I play Day of Defeat & CS source quite a bit nd this can't compare to the quality. I found it hard to even aim.

..yeah it's free but, I would rather spend $20 on CS and get a much better use of my playing hours.

the quality in comparison is abysmal..this fear online is terrible...

Glad to see I'm not the only one who didn't care for this free game. I think I'll stick to CS, BF2 and CoD2 for now.
 
I actually love this game... the different weapons actually require different skill for them to be effective. But I see how easily how people can cheese the hell out of a rocket launcher and such.
 
I've played BF2, CoD, UT, FEAR, CSS, Q3 and 4, and of them I enjoyed FEAR second best, next to Call of Duty vanilla. Counterstrike is the sh!ittiest MP game I've ever played.

Once bf2 came out css was over for me. I used to be addicted to 1.4....1.5....1.6...then source, but bf2's options are just too much for cs to deal with. Sad all those hours perfecting the cs world and I don't even play anymore.
 
Man, I am getting tired of trying to get this to work... I have downloaded it FOUR times already, from 2 different places. Each time I get a different file size and none of them have installed at all (I just get an hourglass and then nothing).

Does anyone else have these problems? Any suggestions for a good place to download it from? I did get good speeds from Filefront, but the file from there was only 400mb, all the others were pretty close to 1.1gb. I thnk the proper size is supposed to be 1.7gb.

BTW: I have already turned off all background programs.

i like cs becuz im decent at it. most ppl hate it cuz they suck.
 
I come from the oldest of oldschools: Wolf3d > Doom > Doom2 > Quake > Quake3 (because Q2 sucked) > CS > CS:S > BF2 > FEAR. I like this game for its simplicity and the excellent gunplay. Unfortunately, it's kind of outdated now and that's probably why some people aren't liking it. There are no vehicles, powerups, kits, advancement, or neat objectives. It's just straight DM or CTF. The only choice you have is what gun to use. You get that gun and one grenade. You can pick up a few different power guns in the levels (a rocket launcher, an energy cannon, and a railgun type), but for the most part you just have your primary gun and your grenade. I would classify it as some mixture between CS and Quake, but not as good as either.
