Other than disabling your Logitech stuff in the Device Manager, is there a solution to the performance problem in F.E.A.R. yet? Do any other games show these problems?
All I see are reports that the FPS suffers with Logitech gaming hardware and some reports that any USB mouse or keyboard lowers performance (I use a G7 and a G15). No one has described it exactly as I have experienced it. My performance isn't just lowered, and it works fine at first. After a couple load scenes or runs of the performance test, all of a sudden, it drops to 9FPS no matter what the settings. If I quicksave, exit the game, restart, and load my save, I get a liquid-smooth frame rate. In fact, if I unplug my keyboard and plug it back in, the frame rate returns to normal until at least the next load screen (my G7 receiver is plugged into my G15... 2 birds with one stone and all that). FWIW, this was with the Logitech G15 software installed but not the G7 software (I don't use either on my PC with my G15/G7). I suspect that it only does it when the PC is configured with the software for the aux display on my G15.
I haven't tried or experienced it on my personal PC recently but I tried it on my nephew's hand-me-down last week (my old AMD A64 X2 3800+ w/20% OC, Abit AN8 SLI, BFG 8800GT, 2GB DDR400, Vista Ultimate).
If nothing else, this thread serves to document the way I experienced it (not a straight-up performance drop). If you are having trouble and want to play through with your G15/G7, Google for the Device Manager devices to disable. The display on the G15 freezes, but it continues functioning.
