I have not played the expansions, but the first FEAR had an enjoyable single-player campaign. FEAR combat (free) is also fun online. $10 seems like its worth the gamble if you have not played the series before.

Almost got it for the expansions, but I think back to the original and just remember getting bored after the novelty of "bullet-time) wore off. Freaking mutants/ghosts were annoying as hell too.

The MP comes without CD-Key, means most (if not all) people won't be able to play the MP ...

Maybe VALVE will fix it, maybe not.

The whole age check thing is stupid as fuck to begin with. If a kid is small enough that they truly cannot get through the age check (and trust me, they will even if it's by random tries), they can still access the 90% of Internet that has no age checks and contains a lot harder material.

I think FEAR 1 was really good. The SP was fun and there actually were parts that could surprise you. The AI was probably the best AI ever. They flanked and used indirect weapons as well. Slo-mo was fun for screwing around at fun parts in the game, sandboxing around (game is linear, don't get me wrong). Slo-mo was used for parts that were hard or hardER.

The MP was zero camping (unique as far as I know). That made it pretty fast paced. The Specialists still holds the crown for fastest paced MP, AFAIK. I was a solid 1:1 in MP of FEAR, couldn't ever get good at it, only on the pubbiest of servers could I do better than average. Sadface.

Age checks are probably the absolute dumbest thing I have ever seen anywhere. And I've seen a lot of dumb shit online and in games.
Do they really think everyone is being honest?
Its just like the piracy argument. All is does is make life more difficult for legit people. Illegit people are just bypassing it.

I'm downloading FEAR and it says download paused on both expansions, will I have to wait to play FEAR until all 3 finish downloading? Also if anyone has CoH and it's expansions from steam, same question applies.

Yes age checks suck but it has nothing to do with Steam. It's law they have to put age checks on Mature games and pr0n sites so they have to do it. It sucks but we all have to deal with it.

Just installed PC FEAR to play-through it, I got frustrated at the crappy PS3 version. The PC version is much much better. I no longer have to wait 10 minutes for a level to load and I can leave whenever I want thanks to an anytime save. Not to mention, the sound and graphics are far better.

How I love using a mouse and keyboard.

Had some issues getting 1.08 to work in Windows 7 x64, thankfully adding it to the exceptions in my DEP inside the System Control panel fixed it. Creative's Alchemy even got EAX to work.
