F.E.A.R. (1) refresh rate

Hi, does anyone know of a trick to keep 120hz in FEAR1?

I have the CD/DVD version, NOT the Steam version.

When I start up and play it stays 120, until I get to a cutscene. Then all of a sudden the refresh rate is set to 64 or something, not sure. And there's no way of getting it back to 120 other than to restart the game. Very annoying. I tried using Powerstrip, but that didn't work either.

I read on the Steam forums that the Steam version of FEAR3 has a config file where you can set the refresh rate to 120. Does that also apply to the Steam version of FEAR1?

Any help will be much appreciated.

I dont wanna sound stupid, but I dont know so I have to ask:

What monitor are you using?

Resurrecting an old thread here.

My issue turned out to be this one: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/F.E.A.R.#Logitech.2FFPS_fix

I tested with my old Razer Lachesis mouse, and all issues disappeared. Just FYI.
