On the 3rd I ordered a cpu, case & 3 fans from newegg with 2 day shipping. Today I received my case (shipped from TN) and a mobo (shipped from CA) that I ordered from gameve.com; but I did not receive a cpu & fans. So here I am with a case with a big dent in it, a mobo, no f*cking cpu, a paper I need to finish writing and a friend (lives 2 hours away) that I invited over the day before to "Come check out my new 939 64-bit system when it arrives." and to top it off the 3 times that I tried to call them it said that their phone was dead. What is this bullsh1t :| [big middle finger @ newegg] I guarantee that this will be my last time ordering from newegg.

needed to vent.

Their operations were damaged in a flood.

There are many threads about it.

Has anyone been able to prove it? Several people have been told different things - I personally think they've simply grown too big for their own good in their NJ warehouse.

expect it to get in any day now, as it has only been 4 business days since you ordered.

Yup, I was hit by that too. Had several previous orders go through very fast, but the last one took days to process because one of their warehouses was hit by a flood. I'll file that under "Act of God" and not hold it against them, even if it did mean I had to rummage around for some old Arctic silver 3 instead of the Arctic silver 5 I ordered.

Sure have been seeing a lot of negative newegg threads here and other places. Is Virge hitting on something here? Is newegg falling victim to their own success?

I ordered all my stuff, but sadly the CASE WASN'T INCLUDED (I guess it's my fault for not checking the reciept) so I had to order a case from somewhere else. Newegg did fail me on that aspect.

But I got almost all my parts in today, ordered my case from Xoxide (Praetorian) about 40-50 dollars more, but no one else had it (that I trusted)

Oh F'ing well.

i would have to say that if there was a flood, and they continued to get orders, they would be working double time to get all the orders out and thats why it took so long.

What are the details of the warehouse being hit with a flood?

I've noticed long delays with shipments here as well. I just figured they were slipping...

Cheers!

I've bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff from newegg over the past few years and had nothing but good experiences. I've had a couple bad sticks of ram and a bad cat5 cable, but RMAs were quick & painless. I seriously doubt they're covering anything up or got "too big" for their NJ facility, if they say a flood hurt their operations I'll believe it based on past experience with them.

As always, a little common sense goes a long way, Newegg does sell some cheap stuff, and when buying cheap, you generally get what you pay for. I'm guessing the case was the popular Aspire one, or maybe some other very cheap one? The dents are commonplace, as you can see by reading the reviews, and are due not to Newegg but to cheap packaging on the manufacturers' part to go along with the cheap materials and craftsmanship. Newegg knows about the problem and from what I've read, are usually very good about replacing those cases, often going so far as to cover return shipping. Give them a call.

Unlike Newegg, I've been screwed by buy.com. I haven't bought from Tiger Direct, but have a look at what ATers who have think - Text

Lastly, the resellerratings for:

Newegg (9.72 lifetime, 9.68 last six months)
Tiger Direct (7.28 lifetime, 6.85 last six months)
Buy.com (5.63 lifetime, 1.85 last six months)

I've bought thousands from Newegg too; I just know what to buy and what not to buy from them to stay satisfied.

But the delay from their "flood" or whatever was inexcusable in my case; I ordered a motherboard and recieved it two weeks later.

I hope they have their act straightened up soon, because I want to pull the trigger on a 939 rig from them but I'm probably going with Mwave.

Gruck, I'm not saying that Newegg is lying, but they have been inconsistent with what they've told people. As I've said before, at least one person(i.e. me) has been told that the problems are related to "technical errors in their shipping system", which is notably different than a flood. They either have multiple problems, or aren't being entirely forthcoming - both of which are issues.:(
