So, I bought myself a new bike thinking it would be nice using the nice to ride the bike to work instead of walking. So I bought it along with a pump and a lock. So i ride home, lock it up and goes into the apartment.

NExt day in the morning i get out thinking how great its gonna be early at work. No shit??!! The bike is stolen! I managed to keep the bike 1 fricking day?! This is not the first theft I've experienced in ierland aswell. I'm sick of this coiuntry. I'm moving back to sweden as soon as I find me a descent job there.

"Get a bike - Linköping is geared up for cyclist and you do really need one for getting around town - bike theft is rife - get a good lock!! Bus services tend to be every half hour and are reliable! "

That sucks man. What's going to suck even worse is when you are going home one day and see a guy twice your size walking your bike into his apartment.

On a side note, I wouldn't mind going to Sweden or Finland myself; some good metal bands over there.

Do you work at SAAB?
I practically own Frimurarehotel.

Nah, I'm not saying it only happens in Ireland. It is a big problem here though and every single person I know have had their bike stolen. I just didnt think it was gonna take less than 24 hours for it to be stolen... I cant keep it in the apartment either since the landlord doesnt want the carpets to be dirty... fooking hell

I bought an Old bike at a yard sale for $10.
I rode it home,left it in the back yard,unlocked.

I figured nobody would steal an old 26 inch baloon tire,fendered,one speed coaster brake
bike.
I was wrong. :|

Uhh.. I don't know what that means. I just found that on the Internet because he said he wanted to go to Sweden.

@Jehovah
I do tech support for xerox. So basicly I bitch and get bitched from angry, irate customer whos machines arent working and try to fix it over the phone. The chicks here arent all red headed. Not that beautiful either. Nothing special. I prefer swedish chicks anyway 🙂

@mchammer
I want to go to sweden because thats were I am born. I moved to ireland because I was unemployed and they were stupid enough to hire me :evil:

What lock did you have on the bike?

I have 2 locks on it and 2 other locks I leave where I lock my bike to lock it up also. Brings it to 4 locks. It hasn't been stolen in 3yrs.

On the other hand my bro has a cheap bike and had it stolen after a week in Nottingham!

Sounds like you ride a lock with a bike attachment.

Nah.

2 locks I leave at the station. They are pretty dam unsafe and are the types I see cut in half at various stations! I would no way leave my bike with those 2 locks. I have a decent Kryptonite lock (post biro jobby!) and a nice Abus tubular lock that all the couriers have. I wear that one around my waist when I am riding. Very easy to pack about.

I figure it is easier to steal a bike with less locks on it 😛

Hasn't been stolen and I hope it doesn't as the bike costs £700, and to me would be harsh if someone stole it 🙁

Bro's bike was worth about £40 if that and was stolen 🙁

Mine was £1500 and it gets taken from trail to trail in the Scoob. I'll never leave it for more than an hour locked up anywhere, especially not in a town.

I had a previous bike nicked from my shed in my back garden. The fvckers destroyed the door to get to it.
