Don Yoon, who lost his wife, his mother-in-law and two of his children when an F/A-18D Hornet fighter

Jesus Christ, that money will do nothing to ease the pain. Fucking two of his children too? His total is a total fuck.

English please.

When I was in San Diego on business I tried to go to Miramar to watch the jets land and take off. I thought they'd have a parking area or something near the base. I ended up getting off at the exit and driving into the base and almost got arrested.

There was a check point (no gate, just a guard shack) on the access road and a couple of soldiers talking to the person in the car in front of me. When they finished the car drove on and I slowly rolled through the check point and the soldiers basically ignored me which didn't seem right but I thought ok minimum security I'll see if I can't find the visitors center if they have one.

As I got about 20 feet down the road one of the soldiers looks up and starts yelling and chasing after me, so I stop. He proceeds to chew me out for driving onto the base, takes my license and makes me turn around. I told him I was just a tourist looking to watch the jets take off and I was looking for a visitors center. He didn't want to hear it though. He was real pissed, I think more at himself than at me, and told me the base was not open to civilians GTFO, lol.

I'm just glad they didn't shoot me or anything. They really ought to have a friggin' gate or a sign or something.

When it was a Naval Air station (Top Gun) pre 9/11, you could get away with such.

Sadly, I don't remember this happening. Tragic nonetheless.

I moved there a little later that month and only saw a brief mention on the news as if it were old news. Yes, I am talking about December 2008 and when I say that I "moved there" I mean THAT VERY NEIGHBORHOOD (Carroll Canyon Rd in Mira Mesa which runs parallel to Miramar).

I almost did that so many times due to 3+ year construction on the next two overpasses closing exits and no good place to turn around (Miramar and my home on Carroll Canyon).
