Monday morning about 3AM I was outside, a half dozen fighters flew overhead on a course NNW. It looked like they were headed for McDill AFB. I just saw on the news that planes from Homestead AFB are flying in the "No Fly Zone" Iraq. They were the first planes I saw or heard since 9-11. You could tell it was deployment because they flew in a spaced single column. It was spooky, full afterburner too!:D

Ahhh I love the sound of jets :)

CO has TONS of Air Force stuff as most know between the AF Acadamy and Buckley... it was a bummer to see Lowry close, I knew some guys from there who were going there for school.

I was at Lowry AFB in 1976 for training. The army sent their camera repairmen there. Boy, did I ever join the wrong service. The AirForce serves real food. They had us stay in the WWII Air Force Academy billets on the east end of the base with marines and students from foreign countries. Some of those were from Jordan and Egypt..

My dad was in the Air Force and had been stationed in various places all over the world. His favorite was Goodfellow because he thought the mess hall there was the best. :)
