I say "Fuck this place, and fuck you guys" fairly regularly at work. They still haven't sacked me. :(
Speaking from experience, you're better off leaving those kind of places first. :)

But on topic, this ruling was spot on. Off-campus and did not disrupt. Free speech. The only thing I disagree with is that it actually had to go to the Supremes.

Again so whats the grounds? What if someone takes out their smartphone during lunch and posts it on social media during the school day?

What if someone is driving by the school (both within and outside of school hours) and posts it using their wifi?

How about if they go pick-up off-campus lunch at McDonalds and post it while in line at the drive-thru?

Also bus stops? Really? lol.
That creates a situation where 24/7 kids must watch what they say lest the school find out and kick them out. It's really untenable and clearly a violation of the 1st amendment. Schools can police what's said and done on their campuses. Beyond that they should have zero jurisdiction.

Also when I read this case I instantly knew the kid was white. I mean this is about a textbook case of white privilege as it gets. Do something clearly wrong and disdainful and throw money and power and resources at it until it gets fixed. Robert Kraft gets caught getting a blowjob from an Asian prostitute. She goes to jail, but he sues everyone and gets them to apologize to him. This case is no different honestly.

I can't agree here. I don't think she did anything all that egregious to begin with. Was represented for free by the ACLU. She won because the school was wrong.

Are you saying black people haven't gotten help from non-profits providing pro bono legal representation? Like the Innocence Project, for example?

I mean, I disagree with those rules but hey, if that is the schools rules? So be it.
This is what conservatives get wrong with "freedom of speech" right... Freedom to say whatever the fuck you want with no consequence. Yea. No. Never worked that way. Only in the mind of the dumbest Trumpians around.
To the topic at hand, this is what kids do, and why they are in school, why they are still in a institution of learning shit. Post something a long those lines about your work place in a public fashion... you should expect to get fired, maybe, no?

I don't know what's worse here:

1. The school actually enforced their policy
2. The girl didn't take responsibility
3. The girl has lawyers for stuff like this
4. It made it to the SCOTUS, like....wtf dude.

IMO, Schools should not be able to enforce their policies when a student is not on campus or at a school event.

So this is what our Supreme Court is doing. Interesting...
Ruling and protecting free speech? You have an issue with them doing their job? Or do you believe the constitution has an age limit before it protects someone?

You are a wishy washy fuck aren't you? Either the constitution matters or it doesn't.. you need to stop picking and choosing when you want it to matter and when you don't. Pick a fucking side and stop talking out of both sides of your mouth or your ass.. not sure which you use, but I am pretty confident the parts are interchangeable.

He's basically being hilariously racist, insinuating that white people fight back over little things but blacks and Hispanics would sit there and take it like a good obedient person.

They try the "white privilege" shit, but really it's just classic underlying racism.

Lol if you weren't a complete 2 year old, you would realize I'm heavily in the favor of taking away this notion of totalitarian authority that people apparently think schools are entitled to. But it just obviously went over your head since you're a bit slow.

Yet, you support Trump and his Totalitarianism. Just more double talk, talking out both sides of your mouth and ass. But as a two year old, I am still more mature than you and notice you pick and choose when you want to enforce the constitution and when you want to ignore it! Yet you missed that whole point, and then said it was over my head and I'm slow.. go figure! you're nothing more than a stupid little baby! What's it like to still have your lips stuck to your mother's tit?

Based on this decision Juli Briskman should find a hungry lawyer, take her case back to court. After all she was on her own time when this happened

Probably can't find another guy with same amount of goals/ assists on the transfer market willing to take your salary.

TBH I love where I work and (most of) the people, sometimes it can be a bit 'challenging' though.
Plus the NHS runs on black humour and complaining!

I don't see black parents taking this sort of case to the ACLU regardless of whether the representation was free or not. I fully agree it was free speech and she shouldn't have been suspended. However it's hard for me to imagine average black parents taking this case to the ACLU. The ACLU doesn't just show up at your door. People go to them with cases they want to sue about just like any other law office. Again I'm just not surprised it's an entitled white kid raging about not getting something and white parents suing all the way to the SCOTUS over their kid's potty mouth.

Those who doubt the existence of white privilege, think a black defendant could get away with using the affuenza defense?

Bad example Because both are on school property and the Supreme Court allows for schools to enforce codes of conduct regarding profanity on school grounds. Which includes school grounds, as well as bus stops, and busses.

That said, in my experience, outside of conservative areas discipline is extremely lax on profanity unless it’s directed directly at a teacher or administrator.
