does anyone know if the ezplug on an A8N SLI is needed when using only one video card (evga 6800GT). i have been running fine without it, havent done any 3dmark tests yet but farcry, hl2 and doom3 run fine. just wondering if it adds any extra stability? (extra stability never hurt anyone ;) )

from what i have read, it is not necessary if you are only running 1 card. however, ASUS recommends that you employ it when you have 2 cards running. the review i read though said that they couldn't tell a difference with or without it in SLI mode.... my advice would be to not use it unles you run into stability problems.

does your neopower use a 24-pin PSU? If so, it should be okay. Basically, you need EZ-Plug OR the 24-pin for a single card, EZ-Plug AND 24-pin for SLI, at least according to Asus' recommendations.

yeah it does have the 24 pin connector. i plugged the ez plug in last night anyway just for the hell of it, i guess it did not help or hurt, still runs stable as could be, so i guess it for one card it is the users choice.
