If you are looking for a web cam, this looks like a nice deal.

BestBuy.Com has this camera $34.99 with manufacturer's rebate of $30! You get the camera for $4.99. You can have this shipped (additional cost) or pick up at the store (no extra charge).

I saw this and added it to my cart, was going through checkout when all of the sudden I noticed during checkout that they tried adding $4.00 in addition to shipping calling some BS charge. I was pissed and cancelled the order. $4 isn't that much but when it almost doubles the cost of the item that is ridiculous. They didn't have it in stock in any of the 4 BB's near me so this was my only choice to have it shipped. What does BB think we are idiots? Just my 2 cents.

This camera is a POS, don't bother. Resolution is terrible and you need one of those search lights you see at grand openings to use it. Must have a F stop of F500! I got it for free after a $25 Mail in Rebate and wish I hadn't of bothered to give my $25 over for a few months for this thing, Damn and gave my half decent (free one from Earthlink that's a Nikon compared to this cam) one away when I got this

Picked up a Kensington web cam a few weeks ago at CompUSA which was also free after rebate. It is also a POS with terrible resolution.
Don't waste you money on a Kensington.

Why is it that every time someone posts a deal, someone has to come on calling it a POS. I've been usuing my EZCam for 2 years now with no problems. One of the better cheap camera's out there. Yes, you do need to have the room lit, but a search light? give me a break. Thanks for posting a good deal on a cheap camera. I just ordered one for my dad's computer. BTW, it is USB so no biggie bringing it to your other computers to use.

2Years? May have made much better cams back then, when you try to set up the one for your dad you will see what we are talking about, and yes, I have 2 halogen lamps in my living room and it wasn't nearly enough light. But, you'll see that too, or not see anything...

I think that it may be win2k compatible, you have to check the box. most of these cameras are horrible anyways. the lens' are really cheap and have horrible resolution. but thats why they are nearly free. so why are people complaining? it's pretty much free!

Just to make sure: nothing against the originator.

But an insight into a side by side comparison.

I bought several brands of theses webcams on the Thanksgiving Friday, and from all those, IBM was the best and Ezonics was the far worst.
It was so bad, that I returned it, allthough it would be free after rebate.
Ok was the D-Link and the HyperVCam .
Ezonics was noisy when side by side to the other cams, and the colour balance was way off.

Sorry, what does POS mean? Piece of Shxx???? Sorry, I was just guessing.

Btw, I went to my local BB for this cam, and it shows $19.99 on their system.
But their cash register did not print the rebate form for me.
Yes, I checked, the item is right, and the UPC code is correct. So I think it's better just get it at local BB, then use the rebate form from their website ........ good deal :)

I picked up one of these at BB after Thanksgiving. It was free after rebate but it was so bad I took it back. It looks like you are looking through a coke bottle bottom. And the drivers are crap too.

I ordered one this morning and got a confirmation from Best Buy to pick it up for $19.50. I printed out the $30 rebate form from Best Buy Online.

The total is $19.50 + $1.56 = $21.06 - $30 rebate = -$8.94.

It does not look like much of a webcam, but for the price who cares.

I have to change my coment above. Many people call products POS here just for the sack of saying something when those products are not actually that bad.

However, I have to say that this webcam is really a junk or that might be an understatement.

I get it for minus $9 after rebate, but I am still considering returning it. Only thing stopping me from doing it is the long line for the after holiday returns. It don't want to wait in line for 2 hours to just to get $20 back.

Tried to tell you, why would they be giving this thing away practically now (ie, free after rebate), because there would be so many returns (if not all). If you return it, you have to ask yourself, is it worth it to return it for nothing after rebate.

If they honer the rebate, I will get $9 in my pocket. I am still consider returning it since I am not too sure if they are really going to honer it. Also, I do not know what to do with this POS.

Another hint for this so call ?camera? (does not really produce any viewable pictures).

Don?t leave the batteries in, even in off position, fully loaded batteries are gone after a week.

JackMDS, can't figure out where the batteries go man... Infact how do you fit batteries in this thing, or why does it need batteries? It's just a USB webcam.
