I had to spend a fair amount of time on the internet to learn whats actually going on here, since the news is dancing around this issue for reasons unknown.

Apparently he beat his girlfriend. The investigation is taking a long time, the league suspended him during that time, he filed a suit against the league so he could go back to playing, and recently a judge upheld its within their rights to suspend him from play during a criminal investigation, mostly because its a private organization and they can make up any kind of rules they want.

Yeah, that's about right. The prosecutor in that jurisdiction didn't feel there was enough evidence to prosecute. But that doesn't mean nothing happened. She had bruises and a story. And, yeah, the NFL has the ability to craft their own response, which they did after what they described as a thorough investigation. But, as with anything where both parties -- the NFL and Elliott and the players union -- have deep pockets, lawyers and endless appeals to various courts drag out the process.

People should have been rooting for Brady to win his case against the NFL but him losing solidified the fact that Goodell can do pretty much whatever he wants. Love that Jerry Jones told Kraft to accept the penalty and when Goodell goes against his team, he's ready to go to war. Karma bitch!

Elliot need look no further than what happened with Brady last year and know this is a battle he cannot win.The players signed off on the CBA that allows it, shout-out to the Steelers who were the only team to vote against the current contract. It's LOL IMO that Jones thought Goodell was doing a "great!" job last year slapping Brady with the 4-game suspension but now that Rodger's wrath got one of HIS player's suspended he's all upset and threatening legal action vs the NFL. I hope Philly rip's them a new one!, Wentz is the most exciting QB to watch in ages..

This story perfectly highlights what a joke the U.S. legal system is. It's like every judge has a magic 8-ball and if you don't like the answer that one gives you just try a different one. How many appeals can there be before one side wins?

Do normal people get to have this many appeals this fast?

Seems like you just have to figure out which judge has Elliot on their fantasy team and which one is playing against him this week.
