I purchased a pair of Western Digital WD20EARS drives featuring the 4-KB sectors to use in a Kingwin EZD-2536 docking station. The intent was to attach this solution to a PC running Windows XP.
Doing some belated reading on what these EARS drives are, I have concluded they shouldn't be used as a system disk (using them as data drives), and that I should connect them directly via SATA to the motherboard to format before using them in the docking station.
Anyone know of any limitations beyond the intent of this product combination? I sent Western Digital and Kingwin an email asking about compatibility (doubt M$ will be enlightened, here).
