Everytime I try to install Roxio's EZCD Creator in Windows XP Pro, I get an error message when it starts to write the registry files. It says something like:
Error 1406: Could not write registry value. Make sure you have sufficient access to this key.
Or something like that. I have tried this while logged on as a "User" and "Administrator". Both of those accounts are in the Admin group anyway. Needless to say the istallation will not complete so I dont even get to install the new update for EZCD 5 Platinum.
I looked on TechNET and only found one reference to error 1406 and it said that it was for Windows 98 and ME and had to do with the windows installer package prior to version 2. This cant be my problem because I am running Windows XP Pro.
Oh! BTW, I also get this error when trying to install any software from Norton. ie. Ghost 2002 & AntiVirus 2002.
Any suggestions?
