I cannot for the life of me get this dared 2 second gap out. The option to increase or decrease the length of the pause between the first and second track is greyed out. All the other tracks have this option enabled.
I'm running Windows Me, Celermine 600, 128 MB.
I vaguly remember seeing this issue before but can't remember where.
Any Ideas?

Merry X-MAS!!!

The way it works is when you go to the track properties, it is a gap before that track, so if you go into first track, it will be grayed out since it is not possible to have 2 secs pause in the beginning of the disk. I hope that helps,

Nero had something like this too. I was trying to use Nero to burn an audio CD so I could write the CD-TEXT (before I found the CD-TEXT patch for Easy CD Creator), and had to leave a 2 second gap for the first track, while I could decrease the pause between other tracks to 0.

If im remembering correctly......look at the bottom right of the Easy CD Creator screen, youll see a little bit that says TAO, double click it and it should change to DAO, there should now be no gap.

Easy cd creator can write cd text in one of it normal patched forms, but you needd to put it into DAO mode when you are making the cd, i think, at least the option is greyed out otherwise.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll check it out tonight. Funny thing I noticed is that on my win98 box the option to change the gap isn't even there. I thought I was having a compatibility issue becaus Me ships with Media Player 7 and it has an Adaptec plugin.

Thanks Again!

Ho Ho Ho!

The CD-TEXT patch for Easy CD Creator that I was referring to was found on Yamaha's site when I was trying to find out why the "Write CD-TEXT" box was grayed out in the program. The patch updated a few registry keys, and I can't get a direct link to the file on the site since their site is defunct at the moment. If you wish, e-mail me and I can send the file to you via e-mail.

While you are at it . . . get the 4.02x upgrade from Adaptec to 4.3.

4.03 you mean ? :)
Still no option for CD-Text for me...aghh
The burner I'm using is Yamaha 2100S (16x10x40 SCSI) which indeed supports CD-Text and everything works fine with Nero but not Adaptec EasyCD

Nice burner andrey! :Q

The specific CD-TEXT patch I got from Yamaha's site just contained an updated list of CDR and CD-RW drives for the Easy CD Creator registry entry. I guess you'll have to wait until your drive is added to the list... unless you can hack it.

Thanks :)
The strange thing is that my drive was recognized right away, without even a patch (Easy CD Deluxe 4.00). Applying patch to 4.03 didn't seem to change anything, unless I'm looking in the wrong place:
from the main manu: Audio CD >> File >> CD Layout Properties, right ?

The option to burn CD-TEXT is seen in the screen after you click "Create CD." There should be a check box for "Write CD-Text Info" in that screen, right before you click "OK" to start the burn. You have to be burning with Disc-At-Once to be able to check off this box. If the box is still grayed when you have DAO burning enabled, then you probably need some patch like the one I downloaded for Easy CD Creator.
