I could get 4 120Hz 3D projectors and have a large high resolution display with no seams at a similar price to a single 30" display. And I can get 4:3 !! So why wouldnt you?

10-12 foot 2048x1536 @ 120Hz FTW!!!

If you got the room to do it, that'd be awesome. Assuming there's no Technical reason why it can't be done.

You could do it with a nice curved drop cloth...there's some sites out there where people have done it for flight sims.

120Hz sounds good by itself, but I wonder if 3D will work on 4 screens. I dont think Nvidia or ATI do that, and youd need 2 cards from either company. Probably 2x 470/5850s or better.

Where are you getting 120Hz 3D projectors that cost 1/4 the price of a 30" display?

I have absolutely no doubt it could be done, given enough time and money provided you happen to have the technical know-how, but wow it sure sounds like a colossal undertaking.

Have you ever used or worked with a projector before? It doesn't appear so. Aligning 4 projectors would be impossible unless you can place them all perfectly center to where they are projecting. That means you would have to place them either behind the screen or put the screen up high enough that you wouldn't get in the way of the projection.

You mount them hanging down from the ceiling. It was done at one of the tech expos right after eyefinity launched.

you'd need a bigass room for it, and the proper conditions for said room.

That is the way it is done at CES (by AMD/Eyefinity and NVIDIA/Surround) and at NVIDIA's GTC.

They tell me it is a PitA to get everything focused and convergence adjusted especially for 3D Vision Surround .. but i guess you only do it once (hopefully) at home.

You would also need 3 screens and a room pretty much devoted to it. And those projectors are not cheap.
