Hi,

does anyone tested an Eyefinity-Setup with a 3840x2160 Display in the centre and two 1080p Displays on the left / right?

I have a Sam 28" UHD Display and Eyefinity on three UHD's ist too much for today GPUs. I thought I could have an interim solution until the GPUs catch up - putting two 1080p Displays on the sides. The question ist, how does Eyefinity work with different resolutions but same screen size?

My idea: 28" 1080p - Sam 28" 2160p - 28" 1080p

Any opinion / Self-testing / comments?

Thanks, but the monitors in your link have the same or nearly the same number of pixels in the vertical. The question is, what happens when you connect an UHD with 2 1080p screens? Can you only use "half" of the UHD screen?

Ask Karlitos or search his posts. I'd advise against such a discrepancy in screen densities.

I haven't run a setup with that big of a discrepancy, but I've run multiple monitors w/ mixed resolutions and it works (e.g. 1440/1080, 1080/720). It takes a little getting used to when moving the mouse pointer or windows from the higher resolution panel to the lower one. If they support it, you could also rotate your 1080p panels into portrait mode and that would minimize the discrepancy in vertical resolution between them and the 4k panel.

It would work, but the experience probably won't be that great, especially with the performance hit. If you have a Tonga or newer you can also make the side ones portrait vs landscape to help get the height closer 1920 vs 1080 while just having it a bit wider. Again though, the performance hit and missing screen space on the sides is going to probably not make it worth it.
