eyefinity help non gamer

I know you have to have 3 monitors at the same res. for gaming with eyefinity.

For non gaming just to have extra screens would it be possible to do this:

Dell 2408 @ 1920 x 1200 + 2 x dell 1708 @ 1280 x 1024 (I will use them is portrait 1024 x 1280)

I can get a really good price on 2 x Dell 1708 $50 for both but if it will not work I will just pick up a second 24"

You can mix different resolutions for desktop use.

Not sure about having the 1708 as portrait. 3x1 plus 3 extended seems to show it could be possible on this page: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/gpu50-ati-eyefinity-display-configs.aspx

In non-eyefinity you can make individual monitors landscape or portrait.
