Eyefinity Configuration Question

Hello,

I am planning a small upgrade for my desk with the addition of a fifth monitor. I am currently using an Asus 7970 DirectCU II, and my question is:

Can I run a 3x1 Eyefinity Portrait setup directly in front of me for gaming, and then have the other two displays on the sides in landscape orientation for chat/browsing/multitasking?

I have seen setups that do 5x1, but have yet to see a combination of 3x1 gaming + extension monitors.

Thanks for any input, any warnings, etc.

The card supports up to six monitors. You will need to use the DisplayPort outputs and if your monitors don't support DisplayPort, (I think) you need active DP to DVI-D adapters.

I know Sapphire Flex cards support monitors in addition to Eyefinity to work simultaneously but I don't know if this is specific to Flex or not...
