I live 60 miles away from NYC. The smoke from the WTC can be seen from my school grounds. My school is one of the most diverse schools in the country, having more than 20 different languages spoken in our school, and a mixed variety of individuals that live within our community. A good friend of mine, who happens to be Hindu was cursed off today while she was driving to school. I'm completely outraged at the double standard that is being set. I'm jewish, and a senior in high school. 11 years ago (I was 7) I came to America is an immigrant from Russia. Besides the citizenship papers that show that I'm an American; my heart is American. I have embraced this life and am saddened to see such hatred amongst a society that is built on the concept of freedom and diversity.
