Eye twitches from time to time...

I've noticed that my right eye twitches from time to time. Searching on google comes back with "eyelid twitch" but this isn't the eyelid....my actual eye twitches. It's causes my vision to blur for a few seconds in that eye slightly, but stablizes immediately. It may do it once or twice every couple of days...

My vision is 20/20 and I've never had problems like this. This started last August/September, or at least, that's when I first noticed it. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing it or if they've heard of a similar condition.

Yep, I had the exact same thing happen. It went on for literally probably two months before it stopped. I think the only thing I did was get more sleep. I massaged my eye a little bit and the muscles around it for a few minutes each day too, that helped. Eating bananas might help a bit (potassium). Otherwise, it should go away on its own.

I get that too. The eyelid starts to pulsate rapidly and right before I get a chance to feel it, its gone.

I have that, get spasms in other muscles too. It's just nerves misfiring, nothing to worry about.

EDIT: i get eyelid twitches every now and again, but not eyeball twitches...that's kinda odd

It feels odd... I don't get a lot of caffine and sleep plenty....low stress job....etc...

I'm just wondering what's up. :p I feel like tweak from SouthPark when it happens. :p

Oh, sorry I misunderstood and thought you meant an eye-lid twitch.

But, regarding your actual eye twitching, I again had something simliar when I was a kid. I alway read in the dark and it caused my eye to focus weird and to move left and right very fast and then would stop. The doctor told me to stop reading in the dark and to sit further away from the TV. That helped (and so did his eye drops). Has a laser ever been flashed into your eye? I suppose that could cause it, maybe? Or another sensitivity to light or color patterns?

2 things to do:
1 - get more sleep
2 - every once in awhile, make it a point to look away from your monitor and focus on something in the distance

i think my right eyeball twitches around and it gets double vision (yes, only in one eye). i also get eyelid twitching when i am fatigued for long periods of time. i agree with HN, get more sleep and look at something other than a monitor.
