DEVIN NUNES’S FAMILY FARM IS HIDING A POLITICALLY EXPLOSIVE SECRET

It's too long to summarize. Just read it. Hypocrisy, lies, intimidation, deception . . . it's all there in this Esquire article.

Looking forward to the news of the massive ICE raids.
I am absolutely positive that ICE will vigorously enforce the laws and these dairy farms will face the punishments they deserve.
Let me set this timer to see how long it takes for that to happen

Good read, what a hypocrite Nunes is. I forgot that I left out Peter King is a hypocrite as well.

Rural farmers like these dairy farmers are in a tough spot. Most rural farmers are conservative and religious by nature because of the rural culture so they tend to vote republican because they can’t handle liberal/progressive ideology but they have to keep their businesses open so they have to use illegal immigrants. I believe this is why they vote republican but disagree with Trumps immigration policies. They pay the immigrants lower wages but seem to treat them ok.

As I’ve said before, why not give the illegal immigrants already here and working identification cards and tax ids and let them continue to work as long as they are contributing and don’t commit violent or dangerous crimes.

So, yeah, they throw away all their professed values in order to save a few bucks. And, yeah, I know that's an oversimplification, that there simply aren't enough native born drones to take those jobs out there in sparsely populated cow country. But their ability not to see their howling hypocrisy and line up behind the thrice married Trump the immigrant persecutor stuns me. :(

Twelve hours a day, 6 days a week, no overtime, no SS, no benefits, wonder why Americans aren’t flocking there to get a job.

Pretty much. Americans are people who want to have family time, and work hard.

I agree with @Lanyap in that we should allow work visas for illegal immigrants already here and productive members of our society, with the caveat that they receive wages and compensation along the lines that even the lowest paid Americans would, if not more. Maybe those jobs would then be more alluring to Americans. Obviously, this would mean increased food prices, but Americans have live off government subsidized agriculture for a long time...and either need to put up or shut up.

Back to OP, anyone really surprised? I'm almost as surprised as finding out that the president was raw doggin' porn stars while his kid was coming into the world....aka not at all.

100% agreed, and the bolded part adds to the hypocrisy since it directly contradicts the "gosh darn illegals taking our jerbs" narrative. IIRC a few years back I read an article about a state cracking down hard on illegals which ended up leaving them with dead crops because they couldn't find any to pick them.

Because that legitimizes them as people and shows that the anti-immigrant stuff is just bullshit? Its much harder to demonize and scapegoat someone while you're saying they literally add value to your country.

Yes, it's complex.

Business owners (including farmers) saw Obama and Clinton as anti-business which caused them to double down on voting for Trump because they saw him as the major pro-business candidate.

Business owners saw Trump as another business owner at a high level. And yes. they were willing to overlook his lack of morals because they thought he would be the best candidate to support them.

Trump campaigned on stopping illegal immigration by building a wall. Business owners were ok with stopping the influx of illegal immigrants since plenty were already here for them to use. They didn't count on Trump trying to deport the existing immigrants that were working for them. That's why you heard a lot of people say they don't agree with Trump on his immigration policies in the article.

The farmers' dairy business in the article are family owned. That's their job and how they support their family. It's a tough job with a lot of challenges. If they can't keep their business running then they "lose their job" and can't support their family.

So, when will we hear of ICE raids on these farms, it's not like they will have to find out about the practice from tough investigation or digging through hundreds of leads. Any guesses?

Well, then, they shouldn't vote for people who promote policies that would damage their livelihoods. That's not complex at all.

If i were a D potus wanting to play hardball, I would raid the shit out of these areas to ensure they had to pay American wages to American citizens.

They want to vote for Steve King, vote Trump 80%, & complain about immigrants? You want, you get.

Hey drugged out West Virginians, want jobs? Move to Iowa and milk cows.

In other "sanctuary" areas/districts that support immigrants and immigration reform, I would go easy. Let them run their local economies along their expressed values.
