I'm obsessed with eye candy.

Just watched AppleSeed (Not Ex machina) In HD. It was a rip from HDTV, but it was definately from a HD Source, though i don't think the Bluray has been released yet. And I have to say, OMG The first fight scene BLEW my mind. I also love mini-guns.

Any one else got just flat out Amazing eye candy film recommendations? I don't care much about plot anymore since they're more or less always rehashes.

I've seen that also. However, I'd disagree that you'd put that movie under "terrible plot", It was quite original in execution IMO. Most stories in general are all simple, the only difference is authors decide to divulge information little by little, which leaves room for speculation until the end of the movie. They do this of course to make you read the whole book.

In Crank however, HD version was AMAZING, very few actors look that great in HD. Crank was perfect in that It made sense instantly. Fiction yes, but you just GET IT. and the action is die hard quality.

How about an eye candy movie with a plot?

Pan's Labyrinth

Beautiful in HD, semi-acid trip movie, great reviews, excellent story.

Of course maybe my definition of eye candy is different than yours.

Checkout any of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. They are all superb in video quality.

The latest Disney cartoons look almost 3-D like on my screen. I really enjoyed the storyline on them too.

Man on Fire was also excellent. I never knew Denzel had such a bumpy face until I saw this.
Live Free or Die Hard is a superb one for both video & audio. I just loved the DTS-HD MA soundtrack.

Not a movie per se, but the Planet Earth series looks absolutely amazing.

Cars and Ratatouille are phenomenal.

I also like Kingdom of Heaven, Fantastic 4 - Silver Surfer, and Casino Royale as "eye candy" films. I can also vouch for the Pirate of the Carribean films as being gorgeous (though I wouldn't vouch for them as movies)

I quite liked the movie too, have seen in multiple times. But I know all the elitists like to put it down. :)

I'd also recommend I, Robot on Blu-ray, if you've yet to seen it, it's an absolutely phenomenal picture.

Because they are done digitally from the start, there is no film grain to be had.

Add to that the eye popping colors often used and you have your reasons.

Actually, given your first post, Shoot 'Em Up is probably the perfect movie for you, mindless eyecandy. And as a plus, it even got 67% at rottentomatoes!

That movie goes down as one of my most hated movies of all time.

3:10 to Yuma
I Am Legend
Into the Wild
No Country for Old Men
Pirates (all 3)
Ratataouille
Bourne (all 3, although Ultimatum look the best in terms of video quality I think)
The Departed
The Fifth Element (remastered version)
The Matrix (all 3)
Transformers

Out of the HD-DVD/Blu-ray I've seen, those are the best in terms of visual impact.

We watched 'The Fountain' HD DVD last night.

Very pretty. It was made using some type of macro photography.

Pan's Labyrinth,, I'm on it

Live Free or Die Hard, SEEN it 4-5 times IN HD. On par with Crank

Pirates of the Caribbean series,, I'm not a fan of Pirates,, I just can't get past the hygiene thing. I'm a bit OCD clean. I know it's just a movie.

Man on Fire, Is this in HD.

Planet Earth, Yes I can't get through it all however, cuz I start to get bored. Not really action packed.

Cars and Ratatouille are on different Scales. I'd agree that both are still phenomenal in HD.

Kingdom of Heaven, Couldn't get into it, it seemed like "gladiator with no action", or the HBO show ROME, without Polo's humor.

Casino Royale is very pretty, D Craig looks great in HD.

I-Robot, ON IT.

Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, I own the standard DVD, and literally threw up at the plot, it was that barf inducing. IDK,, maybe the HD format will get me through it

ANIMATED MOVIES LOOK GREAT BECAUSE THEY CAN BE RENDERED TO THE EXACT PIXELS.

Fifth Element,, I LOVEEE Milla Jovovich. Serbian + Russian FTW.

Aeon Flux, I also threw up upon, But willing to give HD a go.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, THIS should be amazing in HD, I'm on it

Resident Evil, I own all three in HD. Great movies once again,, <3 Milla

Shoot Em' Up, HEHE, yea, it was the perfect movie for me. HD version KIX ARS.
IT isn't Mindless, It's just straight forward.

"PurdueRy" Why do you dislike the movie. Honestly Did you not notice Monica Bellucci in the film???? I know she's older now, But still VERY VERY hawt.

3:10 to Yuma, "too political" can't get through it.

I Am Legend,, Top notch plot actually, but horrid cgi.

Into the Wild, Will look into.

No Country for Old Men,, Was a bore, but will purchase anyway

Pirates,, HEHE,, the HD pr0no one was great.

The Departed,, I honestly don't understand how this got best picture, but ow well, I agree it's great in HD

Matrix in HD didn't do anything for me. No stunning visuals really.

TRANSFORMERS,, OMG,, SEXXXXXX. though the robots were too shiny at times.

forgot to mention Serenity. taking another glance at my collection, you might want to check out Saving Private Ryan and Gattaca.

kinda surprised you mention Casino Royale, as i didn't think it had the visual appeal you're looking for. edit: i forgot Caterina Murino. as a life-long bond fan, i gotta say Casino Royale and On Her Majesty's Secret Service are the only 2 worth a damn. YAY for more good 007 movies and YAY for more daniel craig!

One girl that is somewhat hot is not going to get me to like a movie. The entire movie was just about as stupid as action can get, and I realize that was the purpose. I don't mind a fun action movie, but this movie was making fun of itself. Because of that, I can't get into it. Just to note: I can tell our movie tastes are very different just from which you listed that you liked. That is obviously the predominant reason we disagree here.

Even though its only regular DVD, Band of Brothers is a great TV series and has a ton of eye candy IMO.
