So I was looking for info ragarding the "hyperspace blindspot" described by Niven in Ringworld, and randomly came across something about a blindspot caused by our optic nerve.

At this site, the part about the + and circle. The circle disappears at about 12 inches away or so, pretty cool, follow the directions.


I still haven't found a better description of the hyperspace blindspot though...

I've heard of the blind spot before, but never knew where it was or anything.
 
Woah that's pretty awesome.

Edit: if you cover your right eye and stare at the circle, the cross should dissappear.

Edit2: Woah the following tests were even cooler. esp the one with the pencil.
 
Woa, at the end of all the test there is a java applet to help you map out how big your blind spot is and mine is about a circle of 1.5 inches. :shocked:
 
Well I thought the applet to map your own was cool since I stumbled across it. I was looking for hyperspace blindspot information after all...
