Some of the expansions began in 2013

The great repackaging continues.

Also as the big companies move deeper into shale they'll push the smaller ones out and they can afford the newest automation so i'm kind of skeptical that about what the net jobs impact will be.

Trump's a fucking geenyus...

President Donald Trump is again citing corporate investments planned before he took office as evidence that his policies are growing jobs and business.

"We are already winning again, America!" he tweeted Monday after Exxon Mobil announced the latest details of an expansion initiative that actually began in 2013. "Buy American & hire American are the principals at the core of my agenda, which is: JOBS, JOBS, JOBS," he said in another tweet thanking Exxon Mobil for the announcement.

as long as it nets jobs ..it should be a good thing no matter who/whatever combination of things is responsible for it

nobody is saying the job creation isn't good (though in this case the environment might not like the types of jobs being created). People are saying that Trump is taking credit for an initiative that started FOUR YEARS ago. You know, when the gun stealing, Muslim infiltrator was in office.

I'm pretty sure Trump has only congratulated and thanked Exxon. I don't see where Trump is saying he is the reason for this expansion

He has repeatedly taken credit for these "jobs announcements" done by the major companies along with the high stock market and rising "optimism". The twitter post before him touting the Exxon thing is literally him boasting about getting more jobs.

The vast majority of what he has done so far looks like just having companies repackage announcements and investments there were already planning to make, in some cases many years ago or have already done, to give him something to crow about...thus keeping him off their backs.

Let's check back in two years and see where employment/wages are at.
