Extremely tight molex connectors?

I'd like to say I'm pretty experienced with hardware stuff, but is it just me or lately have they started making molex connectors SUPER tight? Especially with external drive enclosures... I just had to take a pair of pliers to the thing before it would come out of the drive.

Is there some better way than pliers to get these things out when they are super tight? It's always a surprise when they get stuck because they are never difficult to plug in.

Thoughts?

I have noticed that they can get very very tight, but never to the point where I needed to introduce tools.

If it is horribly stuck, you could try heating it up slightly with a blow dryer.

Staying tight is a good feature if you think about it.

I haven't noticed any recent change in Molex conenctors. But there have always been some loose and some tight Molex connectors. Anything made of plastic and relying on a friction fit is going to have variations in the fit. I've had to pry them occasionally. I usually use a flat screwdriver blade between the drive body and a front-facing edge on the Molex connector.

I've always noticed that they're really tight (or perhaps I'm really weak 😉) but sometimes if it's stupidly tight I'll use a screwdriver between the drive and the flanged edges of the connector, with the main shaft of the 'driver to gently work each side a little more free. Probably sounds more dangerous than I mean, when I word it like that...

I've seen some so tight that the wires end up popping out of their slots in the plug.
